The reading states that Jacob Lawrence was a figurative artist that shared formal concerns. Jacob Lawerence also has a spirit of inclusiveness. The reading broke down the inspirations for the artwork of the Harlem Renaissance, one of these being jazz music.
3.) With this video, I learned a lot about the Harlem Renaissance and its impact on art. Artists honed in on elements and principles, got inspired by their culture and music.
Faith Ringgold

The reading says that Ringgold explores feminism, race relations, and family in her narratives and artwork. The reading also states that Ringgold started making painted quilts in 1983, as did the video.
3.) I find Faith Ringgold very inspirational, I wish I had known about her efforts in feminism earlier on, she is a very strong woman in art. This video was eye-opening in the effort women had to make just to get the attention of curators and directors.
Romare Bearden

The reading describes Bearden as exploring numerous subjects in his work, this is highlighted in the video as well. Bearden can show a street scene, an image of people in church or at a play, in a lush tropical landscape, or a family at home, any of these have meanings associated with the black community and efforts gained or lost due to skin color.
3.) The video showed what a masterful artist Bearden truly was. His work was looked at in awe and told a story with color, form, and space. The story of humanity is an important one to tell, Romare Bearden did it with ease.

Amedeo Modigliani

3.) This video drew in Module 10 with the African mask inspiration that Modigliani drew from. His portraits make me feel the emotions of his subject with exaggerated features.
Dolce & Gabbana

This video featured a runway show in a Greek-like setting. The garments on display were colorful, intricate, and unique, the models resembled Goddesses.
2.) How do the videos relate to the text?
Ancient Greek attire had the ability to look draped over the bodies it was worn on. Fabrics used include tulle, sheer cotton, and chiffon. Drapery is simply described as "foil for nudity".
3.) This video was beautifully shot, I love watching runway clips you feel as if you're there, the music, and the set design set the atmosphere perfect for the garments presented.

Art and fashion have undergone transformations. In the video, Kamali talks about her own transformation and how she got where she was with what she had.
3.) This video was insightful on how you should feel in clothes, how being flexible in situations can work in your favor and fashion as well as art is complex and different through every set of eyes it impacts.
